Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., will be hosting the 2009
Law Firm Alliance (LFA) Spring Meeting, to be held for the first time in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Beginning on Thursday, April 30, and running through Saturday, May 2, LFA members from across the world will meet to attend networking events and informative seminars.
LFA is a loose affiliation of law firms created to provide a vehicle for clients to obtain competent and responsive legal services by providing a network of member firms for referral of legal matters. LFA member firms are mid-sized firms with a relatively narrow geographic scope. The LFA maintains a policy of territorial exclusivity - with one LFA firm serving a particular city or state. All are highly regarded commercial firms offering a variety of corporate and litigation services, and each U.S. based LFA member has received the AV peer review rating from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. Winthrop & Weinstine has been a member since 2005.
These meetings occur two times a year at various locations throughout the country. The LFA's executive committee has planned a full agenda geared towards helping mid-size law firms thrive in today's economy. Speakers, including many from Minnesota, will address these issues and discuss the power of networking and building relationships.
Commenting on the upcoming meeting, Alan Starkoff, Chair of the LFA Executive Committee and Partner at Schottenstein Zox & Dunn Co., LPA, in Ohio, said, "The legal profession is changing rapidly and despite our nation's economic turbulence, this is a very exciting time for the Law Firm Alliance. The firm will host 92 attendees, not including the attorneys from within the firm. Attendees will travel from across the country and from such international locations as Canada, Germany, Belgium, Mexico and Great Britain.
