Six Winthrop & Weinstine Attorneys Listed in Top 40 Business Litigation List
 
MINNEAPOLIS, MN—January 25, 2010. Minnesota Law & Politics, a leading Twin Cities publication, listed six Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., shareholders to their annual “Top 40 Business Litigation Attorneys” list. Winthrop & Weinstine has the most attorneys listed out of all the law firms in Minnesota, representing 15 percent of the list. Included for 2010 are Jeffrey R. Ansel, Thomas H. Boyd, Geoffrey P. Jarpe, David P. Pearson, Brooks F. Poley and Robert R. Weinstine. The Top 40 Business Attorneys list reflects the top attorneys practicing in business litigation in Minnesota, based on the Super Lawyers® list from 2009.

Jeffrey R. Ansel  focuses his practice on lawsuits relating to construction disputes, contracts, banking, real estate, securities fraud defense, entertainment and trade secrets. He is a Qualified Neutral on the Supreme Court statewide roster and works closely with his clients to find alternative solutions before litigating.
 
Thomas H. Boyd handles cases involving contract law, tort law, probate and trust matters, employment law, intellectual property, eminent domain and land use, product liability, insurance coverage, environmental law, and a variety of other areas.  Tom is a founding member and former chair of the Appellate Practice Committee of the Minnesota State Bar Association and a member of the boards of directorsof the ABA's Council of Appellate Lawyers and the Eighth Circuit Bar Association.
 
Geoffrey P. Jarpe  has represented plaintiffs and defendants in lawsuits and arbitrations for more than 30 years in Minnesota and many other jurisdictions.  He has handled hundreds of cases throughout his career, most in a first-chair capacity.  During that time, Geoff has tried securities fraud cases, corporate ownership and valuation disputes, director and officer liability and fiduciary duty cases, contract cases, and a variety of real estate cases, including condemnation, ownership, zoning and land use disputes.
 
David P. Pearson  has an active trial practice that focuses on securities litigation, intellectual property litigation and employment litigation.  Dave has successfully represented major broker-dealer firms and registered representatives in securities industry arbitration proceedings. He has been involved in significant trade secret misappropriation cases for numerous clients, and has litigated patent infringement claims on behalf of a wide variety of clients.
 
Brooks F. Poley  represents clients in complex commercial litigation and white-collar criminal matters. His experience includes contract actions; shareholder disputes on behalf of both buyers and sellers; private and government antitrust disputes; intellectual property actions involving patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret claims; insurance coverage disputes; securities actions; and product liability claims.
 
Robert R. Weinstine  is a nationally known trial attorney representing clients in the areas of antitrust, securities fraud, products liability, shareholder disputes and related commercial litigation.  As a founding partner of Winthrop & Weinstine, Mr. Weinstine has been key in building a successful, dynamic law firm. In addition, Mr. Weinstine has been instrumental in building the top-notch litigation department for which Winthrop & Weinstine is known.
