have joined the Intellectual Property department at Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. The six attorneys previously practiced at the international law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP.

Mr. Padmanabhan is a patent litigator with over 18 years of experience in patent litigation and patent portfolio management, and has handled cases for clients with national and international needs. He has represented clients such as Cargill and Fair Isaac Corporation, and has handled cases in trial and on appeal to the Federal Court. He is known nationally for his knowledge of software patent laws. In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor at Hamline Law School.
Mr. Sankaran is a trial attorney with over 20 years of experience litigating patent and other intellectual property cases. He has handled patent infringement cases across a broad range of technologies, including software, communication networks, pharmaceuticals, and nutritional supplements. He has also litigated copyright, trademark, trade secret, and unfair competition matters. He has represented such clients as Soft-Gel Technologies and Cargill. He also joins the firm as a shareholder.
Mr. Robbennolt is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on patent, trademark, trade secret, and antitrust litigation matters. He has represented clients such as Nonin Medical, Osteotech, and NetCurrents Information Services. He joins the firm as an associate.
Ms. Dawson practices in the areas of patent litigation, patent prosecution and patent portfolio management. She is a graduate of University of Minnesota Law School, magna cum laude
. In addition, she holds a M.S. in health services, research, policy and administration from the University of Minnesota.
Mr. Klein’s practice focuses on patents in a wide array of mechanically related technologies. A registered professional engineer, Mr. Klein also works with emerging companies to help develop and implement their patent strategies, as well as mature companies in managing complex patent portfolios.
Mr. Witzany’s practice covers many areas of intellectual property, particularly with regard to patents and patent prosecution. He focuses on computer-related devices and software, data storage technologies, medical devices, mechanical devices and business methods.
