Fourteen lawyers from Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2009 (Copyright 2008 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, S.C.). Thomas H. Boyd, Edward J. Drenttel, Lloyd W. Grooms, Thomas M. Hart, Richard A. Hoel, Jon J. Hoganson, Geoffrey P. Jarpe, John A. Knapp, Hart Kuller, David P. Pearson, Eric F. Swanson, Thomas A. Walker, Patrick W. Weber, and Robert R. Weinstine were selected for this honor. Selection is based on a peer-review survey in which leading attorneys throughout the country cast more than a half million evaluations on the legal abilities of other lawyers in 80 different specialties.

Since its inception in 1983, Best Lawyers has come to be regarded by both the legal profession and the public as the definitive guide to legal excellence in the U.S. The lists appear on all 260,000 Bloomberg Professional terminals worldwide and are featured in many of the major publications worldwide. The announcement will be published in December 2008. Lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed in the print or online directory (www.bestlawyers.com), which is the basis for a number of “best lawyers” features in regional newspapers and magazines across the country. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.”

Winthrop & Weinstine ranks number one in Banking Law, Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law, and Government Relations Law in Minneapolis and Minnesota, based on the number of attorneys listed.
