Winthrop & Weinstine Welcomes Fall Class of Associates
Minneapolis, MN – October 14, 2013. Winthrop & Weinstine is pleased to welcome three recent law school graduates as associates with the firm, all admitted to practice in Minnesota.

Benjamin R. Kwan focuses on business and commercial litigation. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a television news reporter and anchor. Mr. Kwan graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he was a Presidential Scholar and was on the Dean’s List for all six semesters of law school. He served as the Note and Comment Editor for the University of St. Thomas Law Journal. He earned his B.S., with a double-major in Journalism and Asian and Middle East Studies, from Northwestern University in 2005.

Elizabeth R. Malay practices in the areas of healthcare law, intellectual property and corporate transactions. Prior to attending law school, she worked in medical sales and management for Alcon Laboratories, and during law school interned with the legal and compliance teams at Medtronic’s Cardiovascular Group. Ms. Malay graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law where she was a Presidential Scholar and received several Dean’s Awards. She was an Associate Editor of the University of St. Thomas Law Journal, and was a member of the Health Law Society. She received her B.A. in International Relations and Chinese from the University of Notre Dame’s Honors Program in 2000.

Matthew C. Robinson practices in business and commercial litigation. While in law school, he worked with the MacArthur Justice Center in its Civil Rights Litigation Clinic, assisting with complex wrongful conviction compensation litigation. Mr. Robinson graduated from Northwestern University School of Law, where he served as the Chair of the Community Service Committee of the Black Law Student Association. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Boston College in 2008.
