Experience
Catlan McCurdy is an associate in Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A.’s Intellectual Property group. She focuses her practice on the enforcement of trademarks and copyrights. Catlan assists clients with many of their legal IP needs, including:
  • protecting products by advising action in false advertising and unfair competition claims
  • aiding in the transfer of intellectual property assets from one entity to another
  • securing intellectual property rights by creating assignments and agreements

Before joining Winthrop & Weinstine, Catlan gained experience as a law clerk at a local law firm and as a research assistant for two professors at the University of Minnesota Law School. In addition to becoming familiar with IP-related organizations—Creative Commons, Frontier Foundation and IP Watch—Catlan edited scholarly articles; researched and drafted legal memoranda, legal precedents, motions, contractual agreements and discovery requests; and interpreted statues and regulations relevant for litigation.
