John Stern joined Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. in 2006, and focuses his practice in the area of real estate development and finance. John regularly helps his clients with the following matters:
- Assembling and developing land
- Securing local governmental approvals
- Obtaining construction financing, permanent financing, debt facilities, and bridge financing
- Structuring transactions involving tax-exempt bonds, tax increment financing, and state and federal tax credits
- Navigating state and federal government grant and loan programs
- Acquiring debt and equity interests in troubled real estate assets
- Negotiating leases
Prior to joining Winthrop & Weinstine, John practiced with another Twin Cities law firm in the areas of real estate and commercial lending.
