Matthew R. McBride, a shareholder with Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is a commercial litigator. Matt has particular expertise litigating and resolving creditors’ remedies, construction and general business disputes. Since his admission to practice in 1995, Matt has handled hundreds of cases in Minnesota’s state and federal courts, as well as in courts throughout the United States.
Matt’s extensive creditors' remedies experience includes acting as primary outside litigation counsel for a large equipment leasing company. Matt’s construction experience includes representation of both general contractors and subcontractors on projects ranging from strip malls to ethanol plants. Matt’s general business litigation experience includes representation of businesses in shareholder, contract, products liability and employment disputes. As a trusted business advisor, Matt's clients have come to depend on his reputation for client responsiveness, deep understanding of their needs and his strategic approach to solving business problems.
Born in Owatonna, Minnesota, Matt graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota in 1991, with a B.S. in Economics/Mathematics and a minor in statistics. Matt graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude, in 1995. Matt lives in Minnetonka with his wife, Julie, and his kids, Ben and Irina.
Matt joined Winthrop & Weinstine in 2000 and sits on its Board of Directors. He is also Chair of the firm’s Recruiting Committee.
