Ryan K. Crayne is a shareholder with Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. He joined the firm in 1998 after practicing business law in his home town of Sioux City, IA, for five years. Since that time, Ryan has narrowed his practice to the areas of estate planning, probate, trust and estate administration law as part of the firm's Estate Planning and Business Succession Planning group. He has a wide breadth of experience representing all constituents, big and small, in the areas of trust and estate planning, administration and litigation, not to mention business succession planning. Specific areas of experience include:

- Complex life insurance planning and premium financed transactions

- Litigated trust, estate and tax matters, including income and transfer tax audits, will and trust construction and contests, and breach of fiduciary claims

- Elder law issues
- Disability and special needs planning including trusts, social security, and medical assistance at the federal, state and local levels
- Education planning including qualified state tuition programs (Section 529 plans), education IRAs, the preservation of financial aid eligibility for descendants and planned gifts for educational needs
Prior to practicing law in the private sector, Ryan was a law clerk to the Honorable Donald E. O'Brien, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.
