Thomas H. Boyd | Minneapolis Attorney and Lawyer

Experience
Thomas H. Boyd joined Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., in 1989, practicing primarily in the area of commercial litigation and civil appeals. He has handled cases involving contract law, tort law, probate and trust matters, employment law, intellectual property, eminent domain and land use, product liability, and insurance coverage disputes. Tom is a founding member and former chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Eighth Circuit Bar Association. He has also served of the boards of directors of the ABA's Council of Appellate Lawyers and the Federal Bar Association (Minnesota Chapter). More recently, he has served as chair and is on the board of the Minnesota Supreme Court Historical Society, and is the immediate past president of the Ramsey County Historical Society.

In addition to his participation with many associations, Tom has taught courses at the University of Minnesota Law School and William Mitchell College of Law. He has also published numerous articles and writings on a wide variety of legal topics which have appeared in journals such as the Iowa Law Review, William Mitchell Law Review, Hamline Law Review, Arizona State Law Journal, DePaul Law Review, Drake Law Review, Gonzaga Law Review and Missouri Law Review. Prior to joining Winthrop & Weinstine, Tom clerked for the Honorable Ronald E. Longstaff of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, and later for the Honorable Donald P. Lay, then Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
