Craig S. Krummen

Winning is about experience, preparation, intelligence and strategy. There are no substitutes.

My Approach

I approach commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation knowing that in recent years these cases have evolved into a complex mix of legal and business issues. My education, experience, integrity, and business knowledge set me apart from other attorneys practicing in this area.

I have tried cases for clients in federal and state courts across the country. Litigation is costly for clients financially, and perhaps more importantly, managerially, due to the time and energy required to proceed with litigation. It is my highest priority to ensure that my clients fully understand where they are at in the litigation process and the costs and benefits of proceeding to the next stage. I consider it my ethical responsibility to communicate litigation and case resolution options to my clients in an understandable, professional, and timely manner.

I understand how litigation impacts businesses. I have an undergraduate degree in finance with an emphasis in accounting. Before attending law school, I worked as a business consultant for Accenture. Later in my career, I served as a Vice President and Deputy Counsel at Marvin Windows. I managed the company’s intellectual property portfolio and worked closely with outside counsel in patent prosecution and litigation matters. After this experience, I returned to private practice with even more respect for the demands and pressure my clients face.

A Groundbreaking Moment in My Career

After a four-month long trial, the jury came back with a verdict in favor of our client. We won a $135.8 million damages award, and when interest was added, the total judgment amount exceeded $150 million. It was an extremely hard fought case, and it was an extraordinarily difficult and busy year. After the jury verdict was announced, I realized that being a trial lawyer is not the life for everyone – but it is the life for me.
