Over the course of a few years, I led a pro bono matter assisting an immigrant family with starting a non-profit organization. The goal was to form a non-profit organization to honor the memory of and to fulfill the dream of the family’s young son, who lost his life during a tragic accident. I worked with the family and volunteers to form the non-profit organization, receive tax exempt status and provide them with the tools they needed to achieve their objectives. During this past year I have watched the organization make huge strides in reaching and fulfilling its mission and in bringing the dreams of the young boy to fruition. It is easy to forget the impact my practice can have – and this was a great reminder.
I often work with clients during transition points in their lives and businesses, whether that be a small business or family business selling a lifetime worth of property, or a large developer acquiring real estate to continue its growth or diversification. I partner with clients to navigate all aspects of real estate, and to provide solutions to problems that may arise. It’s imperative to me that I understand my clients’ goals and business objectives for each transaction and use this to strike the right balance of risk and reward. My goal is to exceed my clients’ expectations and drive transactions toward an efficient and smooth closing.
Outside of work, I enjoy wine and beer tasting, traveling with my family and thrill-seeking activities, such as skydiving, mountain biking, and downhill skiing.
