In trusts and estates, experiencing clients passing away is an unfortunate but unavoidable side effect of the job. But seeing an effective estate plan get carried out helps soften that blow. I know I can’t ease the family’s suffering, but I can help make it easier for the business to transition to the next generation. I strive to take any worries I can off the table.
My clients have spent their lives building and growing their businesses, and I help preserve as much as I can to pass on to the next generation. I work closely with my clients to understand them, their families and their businesses, so that I can put myself in their shoes and think creatively to be a champion for each client.
In trusts and estates, we often deal with difficult or uncomfortable topics, but I feel that nothing is worse than being unprepared for a bad situation, and work with my clients to make sure that their plan takes into account all eventualities, and make arrangements to arrange matters for future generations in the best position possible.
Outside of work, I am training a new puppy – she’s darling, but a lot of work, and I drew the straw for the 3 a.m. shift. I also watch Notre Dame football, and spend time with my family.
