I focus on preparing comprehensive estate and gift plans that are implemented through wills, trust agreements and related documents. I represent high-net worth individuals in charitable gift planning, tax planning, and probate and trust administration, and also work with private foundations and other nonprofit organizations in entity formation, obtaining tax-exempt status, and various governance and compliance matters.
My Approach
What I love about my practice in estate planning is that I get to be two people at once – I get to do very technical and trying work, with close study of tax regulations and statutes, followed by precise and intensely detail-focused drafting, but I don’t have to stay in that world. I get to meet actual individuals, and get to talk to them about their personal selves and their hearts. I get to listen to their stories, hear about their families, and develop a plan for them that takes all of that into account. I find it so gratifying to be able to understand the root of what has been worrying a client, and be able to come up with a creative solution to relieve them of that burden.
In addition to my work at the firm, I do a great deal of pro bono work relating to guardianship, non-profit and probate matters.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and son, trying new restaurants and entertaining family and friends.
