I represent residential and mixed use developers utilizing Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits and Energy Tax Credits to finance projects. In addition to my transactional work, I have experience negotiating, litigating and resolving real estate disputes including trespass, property damage and quiet title matters. Prior to joining the firm, I worked in the Office of General Counsel for a large utility holding company, investigating and defending the company’s interest in real property, tort, contract and other disputes.
Having been a lawyer in an in-house legal department for several years and working with outside counsel, I understand how important responsiveness is to a client, and everything I do is informed by that. I help clients move their transactions forward, and truly value the relationships and communication I have with them, whether on the phone discussing a clause in a contract or over a drink after work. I work with my clients to understand their businesses and focus on the issues that are most important to them to keep the ball moving down the field.
Outside of work, I go fly fishing as much as possible. I grew up bass fishing with my dad and brother but haven’t been able to convert them yet. More often I spend time with my wife and daughter, though they seem even less interested in joining me on the river. I also enjoy biking and cooking, and though I’m not a gourmet chef by any stretch, I make a decent chili, among other things.
