My practice focuses on the areas of trademark and copyright protection, intellectual property litigation, and appeals. My primary focus is trademark law, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement, litigation and appeals in federal court, and administrative proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. I represent clients of all types, sizes and needs, including initial counseling of startup companies, as well as management of extensive trademark portfolios for larger corporate clients.
Some people want to turn off their brains when the workday ends, and leave the job behind. I am the opposite, as my practice is not simply work, but also a passion and hobby that I enjoy being immersed in, whether at work or outside the office, blogging, or speaking on interesting topics and cutting-edge developments in the field. I’m often thinking about creative strategies for achieving client goals and efficiently resolving problems.
I work with clients on all aspects and stages of the intellectual property life cycle, focusing in particular on trademark matters. Because I handle prosecution, litigation, and appeals, I am able to effectively counsel clients on optimal strategies in the early stages of trademark registration and brand management, to put clients in the best position possible in the future, should the need ever arise for enforcement or litigation.
Outside of work, I enjoy golf, tennis, movies, and trying new restaurants with my wife.
