The Intellectual Property Committee of the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is hosting a panel on emerging topics and trends in trademark law on January 17, 2018. The discussion will address a range of topics including (1) cease and desist letters (when to send, what to say, and how to respond); (2) early dispute negotiation and resolution; (3) litigation strategy (including new and evolving risks for plaintiffs and defendants); and (4) portfolio management strategies to put you or your client in the best position before a dispute arises.

The panelists will provide unique perspectives based on their experiences as part of the judiciary, in-house counsel, and private practice and will include the Honorable Becky R. Thorson, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Minnesota; Ms. Karen Brennan, Senior Director, Intellectual Property, Best Buy; and Mr. Bradley Walz, Shareholder in the Intellectual Property and Brand Management Group at Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A.

The event will be held on Wednesday, January 17th at 4:00 pm in the Capella Tower at the offices of Winthrop & Weinstine, located on the 35th Floor. An application for CLE credit of 1.0 hour has been submitted and an event code will be provided to all attendees. A networking reception with wine, beer, and soft drinks will be provided.
